The Sixth Sun

The Fifth Sun has set, and a new era is dawning—the Sixth Sun. Change is in the air, and it’s coming fast. Everyone feels it, whether they understand it or not…

In the shadows, a Trickster God, Huehuecoyotl, has been watching this change unfold with anticipation- with the world at the edge of collapse, his greatest trick ever played on humanity would be to teach us how to save ourselves. So naturally, he reveals his grand plan to a group of burnt out, anxious young musicians anxious about the future as is- nothing could possibly go wrong!

The Sixth Sun is an indie animation project that weaves together ancient Mexica (Aztec) mythology and modern struggles. In a changing world where we struggle to create meaning in the face of hopelessness, hope will take the most unusual forms. The Sixth Sun is a story of change, love, resistance, and chaos.

Follow Temo, an ordinary drummer on the brink of losing everything, as he faces the end of the world. But in the depths of his despair, he meets two others who, like him, struggle to find meaning. Together, they discover that even in the face of an impending apocalypse, our true power lies in creation and connection- but dark forces are rooting for their failure, too.

Meanwhile, Huehuecoyotl watches, intrigued by their resilience. Through their art and resiliency, he sees a spark of humanity that might be the key to his grand plan.

The Sixth Sun explores a world on the verge of collapse, where even the gods are uncertain. Will they join forces with humanity to forge a new future, or will the chaos lead to the end? The world will change—how it changes, and who survives, is up to us.
