Abigail Roscoe
My name is Abigail Roscoe, but I create work under the online alias Cariboou.
I am a Canadian artist studying Illustration at Academie Minerva, in The Netherlands.
I find it hard to summarise who I am as a designer and what I aim for in my practice, as I feel that my work changes constantly, much like myself. My work is a reflection of my environment, interests, my values, and an ever changing context, and I am happy to see my old art and reflect upon my growth as an illustrator.
I believe in creating the art I want to see, whether that be in the form of activism or purely for aesthetics.
I was divided on whether to choose zoology or design as my career, as I have a deep love for both of these fields, and both have shaped my life in their own way. A lot of my identity and who I am can be tied to my love for nature and all the animals I am so passionate about. So, through my practice as a designer, I aim to educate others about zoology and show the beauty of the natural world around us.
